Class schedule, grades, transcripts, teacher recommendations…when will it end?! The seniors of the teen ministry can all tell you the stress and excitement of filling out applications to college. It’s a crazy time for us with picking out where we want to spend the next four years of our lives, keeping our grades up, joining those last few extra-curricular activities and most important, maintaining a relationship with God. It takes lots of prayer and great faith that God knows what’s best for our college decisions. (Matthew 6:25 – 27)
And just when you think it’s over, after you’ve sent off that last essay, next comes the waiting process. Everyday…checking your mail if you applied Early Action/Admissions or just simply waiting until March or April to see what colors you should buy your new sheets. But all the stress is worth it! We pray a whole lot more, that’s for sure (Matthew 6:25 – 27). And the idea of getting away from high school and striking out on your own makes every minute spent preparing worthwhile.
Some advice for all the future seniors, get everything done early, you don’t want to be cramming in your last applications in over Christmas break..you’re gonna want to party!
