Gen 11 Tower of Babel- Why did God intervene in this situation?
- What did God achieve in his action?
Faith – Gen 12 – Call of Abraham
- Haran was an advanced city with many comforts of home
- Abram called to leave home and live in a tent with his wife
- Abram was 75 years old
- Abram had no idea where he would go
- In your life up to this point, what is the greatest faith challege you have faced?
Fear – Gen 12:10-20
- Abram lies to the Pharaoh out of fear
- God takes care of him during his sin. Why?
- Why do you thing God punishes the Egyptians and not Abram and Sarai?
- In Gen 20, why does Abraham do it again?
- How does fear affect your life?
- If you had no fear, how what would be different?
Compromise – Gen 13, 14
- Lot chooses the well-watered plains and moves near Sodom – Gen 13:12
- Lot moves his family into Sodom – Gen 14:12
- Sodom is captured and Abram must rescue Lot.
- Why is Lot seemingly unaffected by the warning?
- Do you see and appreciate the warnings God sends your way?
Result of Compromise – Gen 18, 19
- What are characteristics of a person that has suffered from severe moral decay?
- Does not have an accurate picture of where they stand
- Feels that they have the power within themselves to repair desperate situations
- Dulls their sense of danger
- Looking for an easy way out or around a problem
