Beauty to Unveil: Nairobi Women's Day

Written by George Irungu

This being a rainy season, the women spent a considerable amount of time during the week praying for a nice sunny day today that would encourage all those invited to attend. Unlike the weather condition the last few days, it was evident that God was responding to the plea of the saints when He gave us a wonderful sunny weather that was perfect for the occasion. Women started streaming into the hall hours before the commencement time ready to learn and be inspired as they worship God.

The hall with a seating capacity of about 1,500 people was overwhelmed by the number of women who turned up and for sometime it was standing room only. The flamboyant dressing was a clear indication of how much women in church value this day and how diligently they prepare to ensure that besides spiritual nourishment, the occasion is quite colorful and very attractive.

Among those who attended the women’s day today were relatives, neighbors, workmates of the sisters, strangers who were invited on the streets and an encouraging number of fall-away sisters who are now expressively working towards being restored. The programme was well-structured and included a keynote sermon, sharing by different women, solo songs, traditional dance and prayer sessions. From the word go, the service was quite ecstatic and convicting as every single person involved in the programme gave all their might to glorify God. By all accounts the women felt like their labor in the lord is never in vain!

The challenge now is how best to handle the numerous women willing to study the bible and subsequently help commit their lives to God. We believe God is happy with this year’s Women’s Day so far, but will definitely be happier when we complete the process of follow-ups, bible study and conversions. Please pray with us that God can use this year’s Women’s Day to save many souls.

We’ll have a more comprehensive article on this occasion later. God Bless!
