Christmas Concert
Goal: To bring glory to God by using the talents of the congregation for an elegant evening of fun and worship.
Format: A Christmas Concert. Two Acts with an intermission for refreshments. Members of the congregation will use their talents to sing songs, play an instrument, act in a skit etc… The program will have two MC’s stringing the acts together.
Some examples of individual acts might be:
- Soloist singing ‘Silent Night’
- A choir singing and/or leading the congregation in song
- A short act or skit with a Christmas theme
- Children’s choir
- A small band playing music; strings, horns, etc..
- Story telling
Auditions: There will be auditions on Friday, October 26 from 6-9pm and Tuesday, October 30 from 6-9pm at the West Side Building. (The ‘Acts’ will be chosen shortly thereafter and the show will rehearse during November and early December with a show date of approximately December 16th.) All members are encouraged to audition and to come prepared with their Christmas themed act. While there is no guarantee that everyone will have the opportunity to do the act of their choosing, everyone who auditions will be given the opportunity to participate.
There is also a need for volunteers for the ‘behind the scenes’ elements of the production, such as:
- Artistic Director
- Stage Manager
- House Manager
- Costumes, lighting, sound
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are expected to be twice a week, more during the two weeks before the show depending on progress.
